There is a rumour going around Touring Car Masters workshops that the Anglomoil Pacer driven by Cameron Tilley might be seen with a fire breathing vee-eight in 2018.
To date the 1969 four door – the only Pacer sedan racing in any top motor sport category in the country – has relied on its 4.3-litre hemi straight six engine.
Cameron manages to squeeze about 500 horsepower out of the block which – when combined with his 11/10 driving style – enables him to put pressure on the V8 powered front runners in TCM…and occasionally win a race here and there.
Sentiments are split on this decision. Purists say the Pacer should remain the underdog and keep to its giant killing ways with the 265 cubic inch motor. Petrol heads say bring on the V8.
Anglomoil would like to know what you think, go to our Facebook page and let us know what Cameron should do in 2018. V8? Or 6????
