Cameron Tilley has survived some “argy-bargy” during the Touring Car Masters round at Winton.
Cam’ and his AnglomOil Lubricants Valiant Pacer sedan started race 1 sixth on the grid and he had to fend off the hard charging Falcon GTHO of Andrew Fisher on his tail.
Fisher managed to get through when Tilley and a Holden Torana had a ‘coming together’. This resulted in the Torana sliding on to the infield. The smaller engined Valiant again came under attack from the SL/R V8 and Cameron had to settle for 10th in the end.
In race two the Pacer went on to score 7th. It kept up with the leaders and crossed the finish line just four-tenths of a second from the Fisher Ford. Although Cameron was 10th in race three he attracted attention by out accelerating 11 of the 20 cars in the field – even though they all had over 100 horsepower more than he did.
Race four is Sunday afternoon.
