AnglomOil F2 power boat racer Damon Cohen has scored his inaugural Grand Prix victory at the start of the Australian Powerboat GP Championship in Newcastle.
It was a perfect start for the young Sydney driver who is competing in his first full F2 season.
Damon took pole position on choppy water near the Newcastle Foreshore by 0.3 seconds and then fought hard to take the win.
The rough conditions led to the second race being red flagged but Damon had accumulated enough points to sit in 3rd place on the Championship leader board.
Brother Brock Cohen also had an enjoyable weekend in his F3 powerboat which displayed the same eye catching colour scheme which was seen for the first time since they announced they had been invited to join the Barter Coin Race Team. The boats look like stealth jet fighters.
Brock qualified second and then worked hard in the opening race to score second place. In race two he cruised to a comfortable second and the points pushed him up to second outright in the Championship.
These F2 and F3 outboard powerboats rely on AnglomOil marine Lubricants and accelerate quicker than a V8Supercar.
