These were the words of AnglomOil Pacer driver Cameron Tilley today after he had finished his second race at the Clipsal500 round of the Touring Car Masters.
Cameron has done very little to his 4.3-litre hemi’ six cylinder car over the off season. He turned up not knowing how he would go versus the 20 or so V8 powered entrants in their Mustangs, Camaros, Monaros and Torana’s.
His is one of the biggest cars in the field and has the smallest engine. He gives away at least 100 horsepower to the big capacity cars.
However, Cameron has built up a solid reputation over the years as a giant-killer. He manages to score points – and even race wins – which all seems illogical.
During practice and qualifying the blue AnglomOil sedan was 5th fastest on the track!
In race 1 Cameron was 7th across the line and in race 2 he went one better!
”I can’t believe how fast we are here”, said Cameron.
When asked about the engine he replied “I am very happy, there are no issues at all.”
